He was worried of violating the privacy of Damascenes families.

He said that in traditional families it is very precious to keep the intimacy.

He was very shocked that I was invading the privacy of those lives.

It could be in a cabaret in D. called Karwan. They had international shows, from Russia specially, but also from all over the world.

He went there as a young boy in the 60’s. Nowadays the cabaret is still doing shows. But there are new places, more elegant, conceived for this purpose. 

In the second picture the woman could not be Syrian, because a Syrian woman would never allow her picture to be left with a stranger.
