…I was constantly being asked when I arrived to the Middle East. I have been asking myself: What does it mean: Are you married? I wasn’t being asked if I was married, rather I think I was asked if I would be interested in performing myself as an unattached person - unattached to social situations or conditions, I presume. I am certainly not married to the Middle East, am I? Maybe I am. Married. To the Middle East. I may be temporarily married to a particular choice of performing myself in a certain way. So, when asked again: are you married? My response is: yes.
