NETWORK
Reloading Images is an open network of artists, writers, curators,
architects, filmmakers, designers, scholars and interdisciplinary
cultural practitioners. Members of the network initiate and
organize activities on a project-by-project basis, working together
across various disciplines, formats and places. Our practice takes
the form of process-oriented artistic research.
RESEARCH
For us, artistic research is the primary tool of self-education.
Through artistic research, working methods and structures beyond
the scope of established models arise that lead us to ask questions
of ourselves and what we are studying. Our object of study is our
creative practice and the circumstances surrounding it in its
specific regional contexts. Our goal in undertaking this study is
to produce a free space for our own continuing education and
engagement in our practice.
APPROACH
Reloading Images projects happen on the basis of communication and
exchange: in theoretical considerations, collective artistic
projects and workshops in which we seek to find ways of combining
academic and artistic, experimental and applied, intuitive and
research-based forms of discourse and display. We create temporary
structures in which experiments can be undertaken, formats
explored, forms of language and (visual) communication
re-appropriated, modes of (re)presentation investigated, situated
in intense phases of working and living together.
QUESTIONS
Reloading Images signifies an approach rather than a fixed agenda
of theoretical questions or issues. The focal questions of each
Reloading Images project differ and are based on the specific
circumstances in which they are placed. Our previous projects have
explored the complex web of unconscious influences, cultural
phenomena, migratory forms, and subjective constructions of
narratives that contemporary society is based on. We created forms
and spaces of experience, rendering our understanding of the
“Other” possible and allowing for communication to take place on
unfamiliar premises.

community website serves as a research base and tool for preparing
future projects. Our current members consist of participants and
partners/collaborators from previous projects. Our network is open
for others who are interested in further utilizing, expanding, and
developing Reloading Images’ concept and approach through projects
