My everlasting comrade!
Then I guess I"m thinking about what I should be thinking about, I'm interrogating Z now to find out about his identity, I assume it will be a futile process of unknowing who he really is, and eventually, who I really am..
I'm trying to do three docs, one about this, one about his discovery that is also being traced, not only tracing, and one I think will be in connection with your work, his involvement with foreign entities that funded his dreams.

Artistic and professional experiences
Coming the first time to Syria in 2005 to work on a portrait series on 'Women in Syria', having the input and experience of the Sarajevo Art project SICE with me, the vision to have an art project in Damascus got created. Meeting Jan Ackenhausen and sharing this vision, we started to build up a network to be able to realize the idea. At the 'SICE - Transition Compound' event in Berlin, i met Azin Feizabadi and Kaya Behkalam. Being introduced to their Project Reloading Images Berlin - Tehran 2007, we started to collaborate on Reloading Images Damascus 2008.

In 2007 i was for 6 months in the region - Beirut, Damascus, Teheran - working on the photoessay 'There is an Alternative'. (The essay is still in the process of editing, as the work on Reloading Images Damascus is overwhelming ;)

'Only fiction has the ability to read the puzzle in its mysteriousness and to give an insight into the functioning of the political secret without wanting to solve it now.' quote from 'The secret war' by Eva Horn

'Especially in this case, there won't be a historical truth in the sense of reality. Historical truth is only the sum of subjective perceptions, interpretations and thoughts which can be checked by comparing dates and comparing statements and documents. But the real truth remains an ideal, a dream, something which isn't real.' Sarah Morris '1972'

The conspiracy room

Enjoying the city's unique jewels, the honest friendliness, hospitality and open gentle hearts of its people, I discover on my walkabout an old palace. It dates back to the Ottoman times, located in the heart of ‘Little Istanbul’, where the city's Ottoman-serving aristocracy had their houses - homes to important judges and law-makers.

I enter the palace. In its far corner I find a hidden room, not very welcoming but intriguing being full of suspense by the dust of today’s mysteries. It assemble… Continue
